Book Review
I just finished reading Knit Two by Kate Jacobs which is a follow up to The Friday Night Knitting Club. And yes, this is one of those books that you need to read the first book in order to follow along with the second book. AND BONUS...there's a third book!!!! Knit the Season is the 3rd book (and final one I believe)
I really enjoyed this book!!! It was an easy read, which is a major bonus! There are some parts in the story that are real page turners, and a few parts where it just took a little bit to get the story going. The first book took me a little bit to get into. I posted on my facebook status asking if anyone had read it and what they thought. I was only on page 40 and wasn't really into it and wanted to know if I should keep going. EVERYONE said the same thing!!! YES KEEP GOING!!!!!! I'm soooooooooo glad I did!
It's basically about this woman, Georgia, who opens her own knitting store in New York City. She has an apartment above the store where she lives with her daughter Dakota. Somehow over time, women from all walks of life end up hanging around the store on Friday nights after closing and work on knitting projects and just share stories about their lifes. It's a small group of women that end up relying on each other through some very tough situations. That's a summary of the first book. SO, the second book takes you a little bit deeper into their friendships. Some things happen in the first book that test their friendships and it carries on into this second book. It takes place about 5 years after the first book ended. Dakota is now a college student and batteling all those challanges (rebelling against parents, finding love, deciding what she wants for her future, etc). I don't want to go into TOO much detail because you really have to read the first book to go long with the second one.
Do I recommend this book: YES!!! BUT ONLY if you have read the first one!!!!
And guess what..............it's being made into a movie!!!! Staring Julia Roberts :)
